Drama! Gunfire Erupts at Derek J’s Hair Salon in Atlanta

An argument between two reality TV stars at Derek J’s hair salon led to a gun being fired inside the J Spot.

How does a gun get set off in such a ‘refined’ place?

Derek J, who became a star from frequent appearances on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and also appeared in Chris Rock’s movie Good Hair, got into a verbal altercation with Neffe Pugh (pictured on the left below), the sister of soul singer Keyshia Cole, who was irate that the initial stylist messed her hair — and head —  up, according to reports.

Somehow that led to a gun being fired inside the salon, endangering patrons and workers, but Derek J was more upset that his place was messed up as a result.

“I’m upset because my floor is messed up now,” said Derek J., whose last name is  Johnson.

This is what transpired: Neffe, who became a reality star alongside her mother Frankie, thanks to the nonstop theatrics and fights on Keyshia Cole’s record-breaking BET reality show, returned to have Derek J fix the mess his first stylist created.

“Her [hair was] messed up to the point we didn’t know what to do,” Derek J said. “So I was just like, reach out to the stylist and say, ‘Hey, what did you use, what did you do?’ and it turned from a professional conversation to more of an argument, but we thought it was done,” he added.

“A few hours later, a gentleman shows up wanting to talk the stylist and started an argument. I asked him to leave,” Lisa McCall, a salon owner, told the media.

Workers at the salon said he waved his gun around the shop.

“Before turning away, he waved the gun in my face and said, ‘You don’t think I will?’ And I backed up,” McCall said.

Then he shot the gun.

“We thought it was going to be a quick exchange with words, and then he was going to be gone. So, nobody really knew he would pull out a gun,” Derek J said.

After the gun went off, the stylist who drew the attention left. Thus far, Atlanta police have not located and arrested the perpetrator.
