Raven-Symoné Scores Lead Part in Broadway Musical ‘Sister Act’

Producer Whoopi Goldberg announced that Raven-Symoné will take over the lead role of Deloris Van Cartier in the hit broadway musical Sister Act. The former Disney star will make her debut Tuesday, March 27 in place of the Tony Award nominee Patina Miller.

“Finding an actress who can play Deloris in Sister Act is no easy feat,” says Goldberg. “She’s got to sing like an angel, dance her heart out, and land some really big laughs — and, trust me, doing it all in a habit is not easy! Luckily for us, Raven is more than up to the challenge and I think audiences are going to be wowed by her performance . We couldn’t be more excited that she’s joining the company.”

Raven admits to being nervous about her upcoming performance, but not about what critics are going to say.

“I’m really not the kind of person who worries about every single review. My thing is my family’s going to watch, and I don’t want to look stupid on stage. So I’m going to make sure that doesn’t happen.” –devon chatman
