Emily B. Shows Off Her Red Bottoms: Are Christian Louboutins For Basic Chicks?

VH1’s Love and Hip Hop star Emily B., recently showed off her expensive collection of Christian Louboutins in an issue of PYNK Magazine.

In her interview she talked about spending $5,000 on a “special edition crystallized shoe,” a move she would never make again. She also talked about her passion for shoes being a big part of what influences her as a stylist.

Sure Louboutins are a classic, but a knowledgeable stylist ventures into other designer label territories to really be different and make a statement.

Celebrities have made Christian Louboutins a must-have staple, but are they getting played out? We constantly see women like Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, Ciara, and all of the housewives of every reality show rock a pair of red bottoms when they step out. RHOA star NeNe Leakes stunts a pair in almost every episode, like they are about to go out of style.

These days, any and every girl is wearing a pair of Louboutins, whether they are real or fake. Impressionable girls look up to these celebs and save their paychecks to purchase their fist pair of Loubies, only to be left broke and with bunions as they strut around the mall or the club like they are doing something.

Louboutins are turning into “my first pair of big girl heels.”

Don’t be a basic chick. If you have money to blow, spend it on some other great shoe designers out there like, Jimmy Choo, YSL, Giuseppe Zanotti, Manolo Blahnik, Valentino, Miu Miu, Brian Atwood … the list goes on.

If you don’t have the funds to just throw it in the bag, stores like Steve Madden, Nordstrom, DSW, and Aldo can be great places to purchase a fly pair of shoes.

Red bottoms don’t give you style. A real fashionista can make the most inexpensive pair of shoes look like a million dollars and still have enough money left over to treat herself to dinner and make a deposit into her savings account.

What do you think ladies? Are Christian Louboutins turning into a basic chick shoe staple?
