Kimora Lee Simmons to launch new clothing line

Former supermodel Kimora Lee Simmons launches her new clothing line, KLS. When designing the 35-look pre-fall collection, Simmons says she reflected on the many occasions she struggled to find something to wear… in her four closets.

“As I stood in my closet at 5 a.m. earlier this year,” Simmons writes on her website, “running late for a flight and with a full day ahead of me, I felt defeated by a wardrobe of favorite pieces — the sequined gown, the cozy weekend sweater and stacks of jeans, the beachy dresses, the amazing red stilettos that only look right with a certain red suit and start to pinch after 20 minutes — that each fit a particular part of my life but none of which would get me through a busy Thursday.”

With a variety of cinched-waisted dresses with peplums, sleeveless dresses with delicate pleats, fun business separates with leather accents, blazers, leather jackets and more with a price point at $600 to $3,500, Simmons’ KLS line has come a long way from her BabyPhat days, when the velour jumpsuit was all the rage.
