Mayor Kasim Reed Announces Atlanta’s 2nd Annual ‘Fashion’s Night Out’

“We are definitely bringing it back bigger than ever,” said Mayor Kasim Reed at the press confrence to announce the second Atlanta Fashion’s Night Out. The room was packed full of eager reporters, stylists, designers, boutique owners and avid fashion lovers this morning at the W Buckhead hotel.

On Tuesday, Sept. 6, the international leaders of fashion, music and the entertainment industry will come together with the city of Atlanta for “A Night to Remember” to honor and pay tribute to fashion iconoclasts Willi Smith and Bethann Hardison.

Mayor Reed, supermodel Tyson Beckford and R&B singer Kenny Lattimore are among the glitterati who will be kicking off this special event honoring the trendsetters and groundbreakers who paved the way in the fashion industry for African Americans.

“I love the fact that Atlanta is a fashion-conscious city,” said Reed.

To feed Atlanta’s hunger for fashion, boutiques, SCAD students and retailers such as BCBG Max Azria, Betsey Johnson, Bottega Veneta, Cole Haan, Bare Escentuals, Gucci, Intermix, Juicy Couture, Kate Spade and more will be featured in pop-up stores around Atlantic Station and throughout Midtown.
