Missoni to launch chic children’s clothing line

Missoni is branching out into children’s clothing with heiress Margherita Missoni leading the way. The granddaughter of Italian fashion house founder, Ottavio Missoni and Rosita Missoni Jelmini, recently announced that she will be launching a chic kids apparel line, Margherita (of course).

As reported by Vogue:

Missoni, who has an eighteen-month-old son, Otto, and a sibling for Otto due in spring, felt that many of the people designing children’s clothing weren’t mothers themselves and therefore didn’t know the priorities for kids’ clothes. “You have to be able to wash it again and again,” she said holding up a pair of thick, organic cotton, baby Hammer pants. The clothes, which are affordably priced, possess Missoni’s signature boho elegance and charm: tassel details, exuberant hues, joyful daisy patterns—the flower is the line’s signature.

Much like Missoni, German designer Karl Lagerfeld also announced his plans to venture into children’s clothing. Should be interesting to see is how each designer’s aesthetic will translate with children’s fashion. Will you be copping for your little fashionista?
