Target to launch plus size women’s line

Curvy girls rejoice! After a firestorm of controversy which Target experienced earlier this year, for it’s plus size pricing practices (charging customers more if they ordered above a size 12) the mega-retailer has decided to make amends by launching a new, more affordable plus size clothing line.

According to Target, they will be rolling out a new brand, Ava & Viv, similar to their Merona label and strictly for plus size women. Beginning Feb. 22, the line which will be designed by Target’s in-house team will release new pieces each month with prices ranging from $10 to $79.99.

In celebration of the launch, Target invited plus size fashion bloggers, Nicolette Mason, Chastity Garner of GarnerStyle, and Gabi Gregg of Gabi Fresh, to swing by their headquarters and preview the line. Ironically, former MTV VJ Gabi Fresh and Chastity who have been the most vocal about Target’s unfairness to plus size customers will be featured in the lookbook as Target’s peace offering. Nice!
