Thanksgiving is a day for giving thanks and sharing with those who mean most to us. Some retailers are turning the family oriented holiday into a pre- Black Friday shopping fest. Many consumers and retail workers are very upset with retailers who will be open on Thanksgiving, taking the focus away from the true spirit of the holiday.
For the first time, clothing retailer, Macy’s will be open on Thanksgiving sparking further controversy over Thanksgiving store hours. Macy’s is joining Best Buy, Target, Sears, Toys “R” Us, J.C. Penney, Kohl’s and Wal-Mart who will all be open on Thanksgiving.
Other retailers like Nordstrom’s have taken a stand against the shopping fiasco and will not be open on Thanksgiving, keeping in tradition with celebrating one holiday at a time.
Stores that will not be open on Thanksgiving:
Home Depot, Costco, T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and Ross
