Carolina Herrera slams Beyoncé

It’s been several weeks since the 2015 Met Gala, but celebrities are still buzzing about Beyoncé’s super sheer gown. One star in specific, Carolina Herrera, didn’t hold back when she slammed the Queen B and her red carpet staple style.
The 76-year-old designer, known for her classic and sophisticated designs, opened up to the Washington Post about everything from her longtime friendship to Oscar de la Renta to Renee Zellweger to Beyoncé’s revealing Met Gala gown.
Here are some highlights from her interview:
On the sheer dress trend: “The almost naked! Oh God! They’re trying to get people to pay attention to them. In life, there should be a little mystery. They’re supposed to be fashion icons and they’re not wearing anything. It’s an obsession now.”
On her long-time relationship with Renee Zellweger: “It was lovely, uncomplicated and easy. Personal.”
On what fashion means to her: “For me, fashion is about originality, sophistication and beauty. I’m not in the fashion business; I’m in the beauty business. You can’t always please the press. That’s for your ego.
