Model Spotlight: Joan Smalls

Joan Smalls born in 1988 celebrated her 24th birthday a week ago and is definitely making her mark in fashion history. She currently graces the cover of W Magazine’s July 2012 issue in which she is also named “The New Face of Fashion.”
Hailing from Puerto Rico, Smalls arrived in New York in 2007 and signed to Elite Model Management. After only a year into her career, she became the face of Ports 1981, appeared in Cosmopolitan and made a transition into film in the Ricky Martin “It’s Alright” video.
