Rachel Roy’s fashion line discontinued

Rachel Roy has been hit with the heavy reality that her high-end women’s wear and accessory line will cease production.

Despite an impressive show at New York Fashion Week several weeks ago and more than a decade in the fashion game, Roy’s partner, The Jones Group, who held a 50 percent stake in Roy’s business, have decided to pull the plug on Roy, stating that the collection is not in line with their overall strategy.

The Jones Group, however, will “continue to support” Roy’s contemporary line, Rachel Rachel Roy, which is sold exclusively at Macy’s. Fortunately for fans of Roy, she has a hustler’s spirit and tells WWD that she is not giving up. In a recent statement released by Roy, she states that she is looking for a business partner and in the meantime, will produce the clothes herself.

Rachel Roy’s collection has been worn by stars such as “Being Mary Jane” star Gabrielle Union, Solange Knowles and FLOTUS Michelle Obama. With a heavy celebrity backing and over a decade of experience under her belt, we’re positive that Roy will be up and running again in no time.
