On Wednesday night’s People’s Choice Awards, singer and actress Jennifer Hudson stood onstage, accompanied by her sister Julia Hudson and graciously accepted her Humanitarian Award.
Hudson and her sister were recognized for their work with the Julian D. King Foundation, an organization founded in memory of her nephew who was murdered in 2008.
The organization is geared toward providing stable and supportive experiences for children of all backgrounds.
LL Cool J, who presented the award called Hudson, an “incredibly gifted artist” who “turned a family tragedy into a triumph for children in need.”
