Queen Latifah Covers ESSENCE Magazine and Plans to Host Daytime Talk Show

Queen Latifah looks radiant on the cover of Essence Magazine’s January issue. Her honey blonde hair, soft smokey eye, and nude lip compliment her siren red, curve hugging number very well.

The CoverGirl spokesmodel has a lot to be excited about as she preps for her return to television. Latifah will be hosting her own day time talk show set to launch in 2013. In her interview with Essence, she expressed her feelings of being compared to Oprah Winfrey and filling the void as the next great talk show host.

“People say I’m going to be the next Oprah. No, Oprah is still Oprah. I’ll be the next me. I feel like there’s always a lane for me as long as I’m true to myself,” says Latifah.

But that’s not all she has in store. Latifah is also very involved in designing her signature clothing collection with HSN that launched in August. Latifah told Essence:

“A lot of manufacturers don’t respect the curvaceous woman. They don’t respect our dollar or our shape. Working with HSN has been such a great partnership. I’m happy to be able to make women’s clothing I really like…everything in the line is something I would wear myself.”
