Lil Wayne’s love life is once again the talk of the internet. Claims began circulating recently that Denise Bidot, the model he dated on and off for roughly five years, was spotted backstage with the rapper, prompting fans to wonder whether an old romance has quietly rekindled.

Midway through, the rapper turned toward Cannon, presented her as his future bride and playfully declared himself best man for B.G.’s big day, asking the couple to send over the wedding color scheme.

Talk of a proposal first surfaced in May 2026, when TMZ reported that Wayne had quietly popped the question to a woman in her 20s from Indiana. Social media sleuths soon identified her as Cannon, an influencer from Kokomo.
By July, however, Wayne appeared to close that chapter. In an Instagram video, he denied being engaged, describing the relationship as something special with a remarkable person and saying he did not want to weigh down someone he cared about. The emotional clip left many fans assuming the relationship had run its course.
That separation proved short-lived. By September, the couple had seemingly patched things up, and Wayne was publicly calling Cannon the woman he plans to marry.

Cannon also reportedly showed off a sizable yellow diamond engagement ring on Instagram in October, adding more sparkle to the couple’s public reunion. Taken together, the wedding chatter and the ring suggested the couple was moving full speed ahead.
A Long, Complicated History With Bidot
The backstage rumor has pulled renewed attention toward one of Wayne’s most turbulent relationships. He and Bidot went public in June 2020, when the model posted affectionate photos of the pair, according to the Miami Herald, unveiling a romance that blossomed during the pandemic.
What followed was a cycle of splits and reunions. In April 2021, Wayne set off marriage rumors with a cryptic social media post about forever that referenced the Carters. He later cleared things up during an Instagram Live chat with Nicki Minaj, flatly stating that he had not tied the knot.
Though some fans have referred to Bidot as his former fiancee, the two never publicly confirmed an engagement.
In January 2022, Bidot told HOLA! USA that the relationship was over and that she was starting fresh back in New York. The couple reportedly reconnected later, only to split again in a very public fashion in May 2025.
