Kim Kardashian found her first Halloween costume of 2026 inside her own house. On Tuesday, Oct. 20, the reality star and Skims founder posted photos and videos on Instagram dressed as her 13-year-old daughter, North West, with a simple caption marking Halloween 2026.
The look copied North’s style down to the smallest detail, from a bright blue wig and faux face piercings to black grills, and it landed one day before Kardashian’s 46th birthday. Family members loved it. Khloé Kardashian jumped into the comments to call them twins.
What did Kim Kardashian wear as North West?
Kardashian based the costume on North’s promotional photos for her debut EP, N0rth4evr. She wore an aquamarine wig and a black N0rth4evr T-shirt layered over an oversized striped top, with a pleated miniskirt and high top sneakers.
The details made it work. She added a spiky skull necklace, stacked bracelets, dramatic lashes and long decorated nails. She also recreated North’s faux bridge piercing, silver studs and black grills, then copied her daughter’s signature poses for the camera.

Who is North West?
North is the eldest of Kardashian’s four children with her ex-husband, Kanye West. Her siblings are Saint, Chicago and Psalm, and the former couple share joint custody. North released N0rth4evr in May and has built a bold personal style with blue hair, dark makeup and faux piercings.
That style has drawn criticism online. North recently pushed back by telling critics not to judge a book by its cover while showing off a faux neck piercing.
Is Kim Kardashian sending a message to North’s critics?
Some outlets read it that way. Kim Kardashian has long defended North’s right to choose her own look, and recreating it piece by piece reads like a public seal of approval. Kardashian herself didn’t say that in her post. She let the costume speak.
Why is this costume different from past Kardashian Halloweens?
Here is the twist. For years, North has been the one paying tribute. She has dressed as Aaliyah, H.E.R., Tyler, the Creator and Michael Jackson, honored TLC with her friends, and even wore her father’s famous Graduation bear costume. Many of those looks celebrated Black music icons. After her TLC tribute, she got to meet Chilli in person.
Kardashian, meanwhile, has faced criticism before for costumes drawn from Black culture, most notably her 2017 Aaliyah look. This year, the icon she chose to honor came from her own home.
What will North West wear for Halloween?
That is the question now. North hasn’t revealed her 2026 costume yet. Last year, she, her mom and her grandmother Kris Jenner dressed as a family of popular TikTok comedians.
Kim Kardashian has made her move by becoming North. The only thing left to see is whose look North will claim next.
