The actress closed out her Odyssey press run with two metallic gold looks, a fitting finish for her turn as Athena.
Zendaya has spent weeks turning her Odyssey press tour into a study of Greek mythology, and her final stretch of appearances delivered one more twist. After a run of ethereal white gowns nodding to her role as Athena, the actress closed things out in gold, swapping goddess white for something closer to armor.
On July 15, just two days before the film’s theatrical release, Zendaya arrived at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in a custom mock neck dress from French fashion house Jitrois. Her longtime stylist Law Roach outfitted her in a cool toned metallic gold gown, with horizontal leather bands wrapping the bodice before giving way to a floor length skirt. A thigh high slit put her matching gold Christian Louboutin pumps on full display.
A second gold look follows the goddess theme
True to form, Zendaya did not stop at one outfit. She soon changed into a vintage Zuhair Murad piece pulled from the designer’s spring 2013 couture collection, a two piece set featuring a plunging peplum blazer covered in metallic gold embroidery. Raised shoulder pads and a swirl shaped belt gave the jacket a structured, sculptural quality, while the coordinating pencil skirt carried the same thigh high slit as her earlier look. She again reached for her Louboutin pumps rather than following the gladiator sandals originally shown on the runway, a shoe choice she had already embraced earlier in the press tour.
Her stylist has made a habit of these rapid outfit changes throughout the campaign, having previously swapped one couture gown for another during the film’s London premiere. As Roach put it during that earlier stop, there is always a second look waiting in the wings.

Gold accessories complete Zendaya’s ancient world building
Every detail of the ensemble carried the same metallic thread. Zendaya paired her look with a gold Rolex watch and diamond earrings, layering the pieces alongside her engagement ring and wedding band for a monochromatic finish. Her hair fell in loose waves, and her makeup stayed glowy and bronzed, reinforcing the sense that she had stepped straight out of an ancient frieze.
The symbolism was intentional. In Greek mythology, bronze and gold carried associations with divine strength and were often used to craft armor and monuments to the gods. For an actress playing Athena, the goddess of wisdom and warfare, the shift from soft white fabrics to hardened metallic tones added a new layer of meaning to her press tour wardrobe, one that felt less like a costume change and more like a coronation.
The end of an era, with more still to come
Zendaya’s turn as a modern day Athena is nearly finished as a press cycle, with The Odyssey opening in theaters on July 17. But her fashion moment is far from over. Spider-Man Brand New Day arrives just two weeks later on July 31, giving her stylist plenty of runway to dream up an entirely new visual language for her next round of red carpet appearances.
For now, though, the gold send off feels like a fitting closing chapter to a press tour that turned red carpets into something closer to mythology, one gilded, sculptural look at a time.
