Khloé Kardashian has a talent for reading people just not the ones she falls for. The Kardashians star, 41, made the candid admission during a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s The Morgan Stewart Show, where host Morgan Stewart asked whether Khloé considered herself the sharpest judge of character among her famous siblings. Her answer was equal parts self-aware and funny.
When it comes to everyone outside her romantic life, Khloé said she generally has a good read on people. But the moment feelings get involved, that instinct apparently goes out the window. She laughed it off, but the comment carried the weight of a woman who has lived through not one but two very public relationship implosions.
Relationship no. 1: Lamar Odom
Khloé married former NBA player Lamar Odom, 46, in 2009, just one month after they began dating. The whirlwind union eventually unraveled when a cheating scandal became public in 2013, and the couple separated. Their divorce was finalized in 2016.
But the story did not end there. In 2015, Odom was found unresponsive at a Nevada brothel after a near fatal overdose. Khloé, still legally his wife at the time, called off divorce proceedings and stepped in to help manage his recovery. The experience was something she had largely put behind her until a Netflix documentary brought it all back.
Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, now streaming, features Khloé speaking about their marriage and her role during his medical crisis. After the documentary aired, Odom disputed several of her claims during press appearances, suggesting she had exaggerated her involvement and even implying she was not being truthful.
Khloé addressed the fallout on her podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, making clear that she had participated in the project believing both parties were on the same page. Learning that Odom was publicly questioning her account and what she described as her efforts to support him during one of the darkest periods of his life clearly caught her off guard and reignited frustrations she thought were long settled.
Relationship no. 2: Tristan Thompson
Khloé’s second major relationship brought its own series of painful chapters. She and NBA player Tristan Thompson, 35, share two children together daughter True, 8, and son Tatum, 3. Their on and off relationship was repeatedly derailed by infidelity, and the final break came when Khloé learned Thompson had fathered a child with another woman.
In a December 2025 episode of The Kardashians, Khloé revealed she has been single and celibate for four years. She later made clear she was not looking to change that anytime soon, saying she had no interest in dating and was not expecting that to shift.
What she sees in her younger sisters
Despite her own romantic history, Khloé was quick to point out that not everyone in the family shares her blind spot. She singled out her younger sisters, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner, as two people she genuinely admires for their ability to assess others clearly.
Khloé described both of them as grounded, realistic and level headed qualities she clearly values. She also offered some context for why they may have developed that kind of guardedness earlier than she did.
Kendall and Kylie grew up with cameras already present in their lives, which Khloé suggested gave them less time to move through the world without scrutiny. She and her older siblings Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian and Rob Kardashian had more of a private upbringing before the family rose to fame through Keeping Up with the Kardashians. That difference in experience, Khloé implied, may have sharpened her younger sisters’ instincts in ways that did not come as naturally to her.
It is a remarkably clear eyed observation from someone who has spent years being the subject of tabloid headlines about the men in her life. Whether it is wisdom, humor or a bit of both, Khloé seems to have made peace with the fact that she knows her limits and exactly where they lie.
